Are you interested in contributing to culturally safe communication about COVID-19 in rural and regional Aboriginal communities?
The NSW Ministry of Health’s guideline ‘Pandemic Preparedness and Response with Aboriginal Communities in NSW’ was released in July 2019 and while it is based on extensive consultation with Aboriginal stakeholders, there is a notable absence of empirical research to inform the strategy. In particular, there is an absence of research examining Aboriginal people’s information and communication needs and culturally safe community management plans. There is a clear need for the perspectives of rural and regional Aboriginal peoples to be empirically collected to inform the development of culturally safe communication and management plans.
